Joanne, a local Mexican American artist, developed her love for art at the tender age of ten. She has continued her love for art through hard work and dedication. Joanne is an active member of our community, whether it is at the local elementary schools or at the juvenile detention center in Sylmar.

Joanne graduated from San Fernando High School, where her major was fine arts. Joanne has expanded her knowledge and love of art at the local community colleges, including Los Angeles Mission College and Los Angeles City College. In addition, she has studied under many well-known artists such as Don Toche, Neil Boyle and most recently, Lance Richlin. Her art work has been displayed at numerous art exhibits throughout Los Angeles. Along with the canvas work, she has also created several murals, which include "Get the Big Picture," which is displayed at downtown Los Angeles, and "Freedom Forward," which is displayed at the Jewish Community Center in Van Nuys. Joanne's collectors agree that Joanne has many specialties, which include pastels, oils, life drawing and watercolors. Joanne's favorite work is definitely portraits.
